"MADE IN HOLLYWOOD: Photographs from the John Kobal Foundation", which opened at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, Santa Barbara, California on July 11th and runs there through October 12, 2008, is drawn from the archive of the John Kobal Foundation. This exhibition focuses on the stars, the sets and the scenes created by the American film industry and captured by the most important photographers who worked in the Hollywood Studios from 1920-1960.

From the silent era through the end of the studio system in the late 1950s, these camera artists captured and created the magic that Hollywood symbolized. Featuring more than 90 images, Made in Hollywood offers a glimpse into the world of fantasy, glamour and perfection that the image makers produced and which have ensured their names are etched into the pantheon of fine art photography.

This exhibition marks the first time many of these vintage prints have ever been put on display. After Santa Barbara, it will then travel through the United States and Europe finishing its tour at the National Portrait Gallery, London from mid July to mid October 2011.
